Claude Code SEO skills, compared: what each one actually does
By Arthur Teboul, founder · Updated October 30, 2026
Most “best Claude SEO skills” lists copy each other's descriptions. We opened each repository on October 30, 2026 and read the SKILL.md files. Most are audit and content skills. Almost none sends outreach.
The short version
- For audits: claude-seo covers the most ground in one plugin (26 sub-skills); geo-seo-claude focuses on AI search.
- For content: seomachine (needs DataForSEO) or the content skills in marketingskills and superseo-skills.
- For links: most skills analyse backlinks or plan a campaign. Of the 12, only the MentionAgent skill sends outreach end to end, through its paid service. marketingskills drafts emails for you to send with another tool.

Where to find more
- claudemarketplaces.com has a “Marketing & SEO” category; seoskills.sh lists SEO skills only.
- skills.sh, ClawHub, Skills Directory and MCP Market list skills without an SEO category: search by keyword.
- Anthropic's official plugin directory had no SEO plugin on October 30; the community repository lists about 30, claude-seo among them.
Why the link-building gap exists
Audits and content run on data a skill can read: your pages, your Search Console, an API. Links depend on other people saying yes, which means finding the right page, the right person and a reason for them to add you, then following up over days. A session that closes stops following up.
That is the part we built. On our own two apps, 2,326 first emails led to 26 sites linking to us, 24 of them dofollow; the full funnel, including what failed, is in our outreach benchmarks. The EarnedBacklinks Skill runs that method inside Claude Code, Codex or OpenClaw. Its public repository opens in mid-November 2026, so it is not in the table above.
